Matthews, Stanley, 1824-1889

Matthews was a member of the U.S. Senate from Ohio (1877-1879), and served as counsel before the Electoral Commission in the Hayes-Tilden presidential dispute (1877) and was an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court (1881-1889).
